Kalihati Upazila with an area of 301.22 sq km is located 22 km northeast of Tangail city and 102 km northwest of the capital Dhaka. Geographically, 24°17 ́ to 24°26 ́ north latitude and 89°45 ́ to 90°11 ́ east longitude. Bhunapur and Ghatail Upazila in the north of this upazila, Tangail Sadar and Basail Upazila in the south, Sakhipur Upazila in the east, Sirajganj Sadar and Belkuchi Upazila in the west.
